Although it has never been realized as an installed artwork, I've been working for over a decade on the Rookery concept. From the mission statement: Rookery is an interactive environment which reacts to viewers by means of motion detection. Rookery is populated by abstract characters (Rooks) which, depending on their mood, have more or less interest in 'looking back' at outside viewers. The Rookery is frantic, peaceful, night or day, rushed or slow depending on the time when it is viewed.
